This Fairfield High School Oral History Collection interview with Karen Ross Grant and her mother Maude Ross was conducted on October 26, 2017. Grant grew up in Winnsboro, South Carolina and attended Winnsboro High School, right after ‘freedom of choice’ and the end of segregation. She went on to further her education at Winthrop University, and later, MIT.
