Interview conducted with an MIT alumna as part of the Margaret MacVicar Memorial AMITA (Association of MIT Alumnae) Oral History Project. The purpose of the project is to document the life histories of women graduates of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
About the Interviewee
Linda Carolyn Sharpe '69 earned a Bachelors in Political Science from MIT in 1969. From 1970 to 1975, she remained at MIT, completing PhD coursework and exams in the field with a focus on policy studies, operations research, and systems engineering with a focus on quantitative methods applied to domestic and international urban economic development.
She is currently a Transportation Program Analyst at DIGITALiBiz, Inc.
A co-founder of the MIT Black Students' Union and the first African American woman to serve as president of the MIT Alumni/ae Association, Sharpe continues to serve the MIT community in a variety of capacities:
